Please help us support Jeff's road to recovery!

Hello, I am Kristi Tyler, many of you know that my brother Jeff was involved in a near fatal car accident on April 17th. The photo I have shared was the image that we (immediate family) saw the first day at the hospital. Jeff had swerved to avoid hitting a deer and this caused his suburban to hit a rock wall and tumble over and over. He sustained over 19 separate injuries including 16 broken bones and numerous internal injuries which have caused weeks of issues. He could not eat and digest food for weeks and his collapsed lung continued to fill full of fluid giving him pneumonia on 2 occasions. This is the same side he sustained 9 broken ribs. He has had 2 surgeries so far repairing his femur, hip and pelvis and tibia. He is still waiting to have surgery on his broken hands. Jeff is non weight bearing and has been since he entered the hospital, and the orthopedic surgeon has said a minimum of 10 additional weeks before he can bear any weight on either leg. He has moved to a rehabilitation hospital just this week and during the admissions process we have learned that his health insurance plan will only cover 20 days for rehab, hence why I am here asking for help. The medical bills are piling up already, the flight for life medic transport was $59,000 alone and not covered by insurance. Most importantly, if we do not secure enough private pay to buy more time at the rehab hospital we are in dire straits. Jeff requires this continued rehab to recover to the best of his ability and without it we are at a loss for what to do. The immediate family, including myself, have 2 story homes and certainly could not provide the care he needs in a home environment. We are now asking for your help. Whatever you can do, any amount will help, and we will all be eternally grateful for the support. If you cannot help, we understand, but ask that you please continue to pray for Jeff and his recovery and to help us find a solution for his continued care.

Please read your insurance policies, make sure you have supplemental accident policies (AFLAC) in place to cover what your health plan does not. Jeff certainly did not think this could ever happen to him.
