John Bauer Family Fund - Restabilization

Thanks for reading friends-of-John, friends-of-Kourtney, his family, his coworkers, former coworkers -- and caring second-hand humans to all those listed.

John and Kourtney had the blessings of 2 children and homeownership enter their lives in the last 6 years. And everything may look "fine" through the prism that social-media showcases, but reality has come at them a bit hard since the unexpected closure of PINK Energy a little over a year ago. For those of you that don't know, John was a well-paid, high-level employee with the large solar company Pink Energy. So Pink Energy's unexpected IMMEDIATE closure in late 2022 shook John and Kourtney's world to its core.

After several months of looking for work in the aftermath, John eventually accepted a job with another solar company, but it was well below the pay-grade Kourtney and John had built their life around, that would allow for a stay at home parent to tend to their infantile children.

Now a year removed from the shock and aww of the moment, they have created a stable path to move forward with in Kourtney pursuing her own employment, while John has been working for another solar company and finding odd-jobs on the side along the way. But simply put, the uncertainty and child-care and lost time in the last year has put them in a hole that is putting their home, relationships, and future in immediate danger.

John has reportedly only found solace recently by reading his bible and attending church on Sunday, but the weekly stress and impending doom that a ever-more likely house foreclosure (behind by several months, with some money in the bank almost ready to "catch-up" in one lump sum), and $3,000 vehicle maintenance that has made his ability to get to work it's own problem-inside-a-problem, is compounding and making someone like me -- a new co-worker -- think of showing him this post and asking for his blessing to post it and share it widely. Because I don't know what else to do while I am second-hand watching his mental state deteriorate over the last few months, been hearing his updating status as they are scraping and trying, but ultimately aware of the hole they are almost climbing out of, yet almost missing the window on.

So, whoever you are reading this, even if you have not much of your own to offer, know that even a $10 donation could be a great sliver, that would add up to a substantial amount of money with others like you, to allow for stability to be regained by John and Kourtney. The goal is for their daughter to keep the only home, neighborhood and friends she has ever known, because they don't have any reasonable alternative. They don't have a great plan-B from talking with John as any family resources are essentially non-existent. Rental prices with the current market do not offer a cheaper place to stay compared to the mortgage they locked in only a short amount of time before he lost his job (current housing/rates and all). So a move out of their home is a complete reshuffling of their lives for years to come with no stability in site. Please help them re-establish a foot-hold so they can stay functional members of society and provide a stable home for their children -- they now have a 2-parent income household for the first time in their lives that should provide the path forward -- but they need a foothold from where they are and they are so close. The bottom appears to be a long way down should they lose this footing.

Thank you.
John served 8 years in the Marines before returning to civilian life and finding a home in solar.
