Three weeks ago a day before Landons 3rd birthday he went in for a biopsy for swollen lymph nodes. Just after a couple hours it came back that's when we found out our beautiful spirited grandson had leukemia. He was immediately admitted at MUSC children's hospital. His white blood cells were extremely high and his platelets were dangerously low. The next day Landon underwent a bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture, and his first dose of Chemo. Landon is now diagnosed with "Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia "(ALL)
The doctors and nurses, are telling us it could be at least a five year journey full of treatments, doctors appointment, chemotherapy, and a complete change in Landons life.
Since his release from ICU of 5 days and children's ward of 10 days Landon, big sister Kiley, mom Darby, dad Benjamin have moved in with my husband Paul, our daughter Hannah, and myself. Although we are a hard working family leukemia is a stubborn and difficult disease, even with medical insurance the cost of treatments is going to be more than most families can manage. It is going to require a substantial amount of financial resources and emotional strength.
We have already had a incredible amount of family and friends reach out to us to give us support and a helping hand. We are so very thankful to them for that.
All we want for Landon is to be healthy and have a normal life with a bright future. PLEASE consider helping us to ease the financial burden for Landons recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Holloway Family
