Eagle Scout Project

My name is Aidan Basinski, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 1620 in Plymouth. I am currently working towards my Eagle Scout rank. I have been in scouting for almost 9 years, starting as a Cub Scout in Pack 1620. To conclude my scouting endeavors, I am tasked with doing a project that gives back to the community.

For my Eagle project, I have proposed rebuilding the fence around the Redding-Bloody Pond Cemetery located on Long Pond Road in South Plymouth. This cemetery dates back to 1851 and is the final resting place of just over 25 people, including two veterans. I want to replace the fence not only to show respect to the people buried there but also to help improve the appearance of the community.

I have received approval from the Scouts BSA Mayflower Council, the Plymouth Cemetery Department, and the Plymouth Select Board to proceed with my project. I am hoping to complete the fence in the Spring of 2023.

I am reaching out to the community to seek donations that will help to purchase the materials needed to complete this project.
