MASKS for UNDER-RESOURCED BAY AREA FAMILIES
Donation protected
THANK YOU!!! To date, we've given out 900 bottles of hand sanitizer& 8500 masks!! We're still going!! Please help us spread the word. Thank you!!!
Please help us protect under-resourced community members from the devastation of Covid-19.
Thousands of financially vulnerable Bay Area community members continue to ride public transportation and work essential jobs with no access to protection. While some of us are able to shelter in place, too many are unable to stay home and don’t have masks, gloves or hand sanitizer. Many are delivering packages, working in grocery stores, cleaning and hauling garbage, cooking take-out meals, and growing our food. Those working without protective gear are terrified, as their work puts them at risk to infect themselves and their families. This risk extends to their coworkers, customers and us.
We’ve seen the statistics that show, loudly and clearly, that our most vulnerable populations are getting sick and dying in terrifyingly disproportionate numbers.
We can help! Our actions can help keep families safe. Aspire Pilates Center and Grown Women Dance Collective are working to get masks to families in the grassroots organizations where they teach free arts and wellness classes and sponsor kids for dance concerts.
We are working with small, grassroots organizations and families in Antioch, Bay Point, Pittsburg, Oakland, Richmond, and San Francisco. More organizations will be supported with each delivery, as funds are raised.
We are excited to partner with KDWApparel.com, a Los Angeles-based yoga pant company that has pivoted to making masks to help with this crisis. Note: These are NOT N95 masks, as this type of mask is in short supply and should be directed to medical professionals. These are three layered, washable cloth masks.
We are thrilled to also partner with MaskOakland.org, who is helping us get KN95's into the community, which help also protect families from smoke.
All donations will fund masks and hand sanitizer for under-resourced Bay Area community members. The more gear we are able to buy, the cheaper it will become, allowing us to help more Bay Area families.
Thank you for your help!! All of the community members that we’ve spoken with are extremely thankful for our ability and commitment to help! We will get through this, together.
