Keaton and O'Dwyer fund
Donation protected
Firstly, I would like to thank everybody who has donated money to this cause. There are so many that have donated, and the response has been overwhelming.
Geoffrey Keaton, 32, and Andrew O’Dwyer, 36, from the Horsley Park Rural Fire Service brigade, were killed on Thursday 19/12/2019.
The two men , both fathers of young children, died in tragic circumstances whilst fighting a bushfire at Buxton.
The RFS states both men had served as volunteers for well over a decade, with Keaton joining in 2006 and O’Dwyer in 2003.
I was not personally acquainted with these two Firefighters, but do feel deeply saddened by the fact that they passed in the line of duty. I have now met the families of these two men, as well as the fellow Firefighters from the Horsley Park Brigade, and must say they are all beautiful people. These men gave their lives helping others, I feel this fundraiser will assist in everyday living and expenses for their families.
Once again, thank you all so much for supporting this campaign, and I know no amount of money can change the unfortunate events of the last couple of days, but it can and will help with everyday living expenses.
All funds raised from this Gofundme campaign will be going to the wives and children of these men.
I am already making arrangements for the money raised and donated by the generous Australian Community to be given to the affected families direct.
The RFS has also opened a Bank account for donations.
