Ride Again

I was diagnosed with Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes at the age of 7 and lost my leg 6 inches below my knee in 2014. I have also endured multiple treatments and surgeries to restore and preserve my vision, the most recent being this past January. Throughout my life I have always found peace and healing through my music and my love of the outdoors. Prior to my amputation I was a competitive bull rider and I loved taking my horse, Traveler, out on rides in the country. Those things are no longer possible for me at this time in my life.

 I am currently in need of a new prosthetic and a truck so that I can be more mobile and start to get back to doing the things I love. I don’t like asking for help but I know I need it. My disability insurance doesn’t cover my cost of living and certainly isn’t enough to pay the additional costs of a new prosthetic that aren’t picked up by insurance, which is about $1500 extra that I have to come up with.
The other half of the money I need to be able to buy an old farm truck so I can get around more easily and to a farm to safely get me back in the saddle. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my story and for your prayers and support. God Bless!~Will
