Our beloved Kede Van Dyck passed from this life to the next on April 4, 2023. We wanted to give everyone an update and let you know how you can help.

Kede was born entertainer and a very gifted bellydancer. Isis and the Star Dancers became her extended family where she felt at home. Kede was a math teacher, counselor, and Assistant Principal at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, a place where she shared her gifts with the upcoming generation of students. In 2015 Kede and Matthew were married and in 2021 welcomed their wonderful daughter Zoe into the world. Soon after this, Kede began the fight of her life when she was diagnosed with leukemia. She fought a hard battle of chemotherapy, infusions, a bone marrow transplant, and several surgeries in order to stay healthy and continue her beautiful life with her beloved family.

On April 3 Kede arrived at the hospital for a regular infusion and was admitted in order to remove fluid from her heart, which was making it difficult to breathe. Over the course of the day, her vitals were not able to stabilize, and she was intubated. Unfortunately, this was too much for her body to bear. The next day (April 4) her family was able to come in and say goodbye to her, and she passed peacefully with all of us surrounding her and telling her how much she is loved.

Though we are all devastated to say goodbye to Kede, we rejoice that she is no longer suffering with this terrible disease. While we plan her memorial, we are asking for your help to pay for all of the upcoming expenses. Additionally, we would like to give Matthew and Zoe a good size gift to support them while they grieve. Since Kede's death was so sudden, there was no time to sort out accounts and things, so those finances will be tied up for many months. Let's show our support of Kede and her family by giving generously, something that Kede did so well when she was alive on earth.
