Keela's orthopedic surgery and recovery

This is a desperate cry for help! I mean that with all my heart. Just look at the pictures and the X-rays! If you love dogs, cats, or pets in general but especially chocolate labs we need your help to heal this sweet girl! By NO fault of her own she was hit by a car several weeks ago and sadly her owner neglected to seek proper veterinary care. We were able to get her surrendered to our animal hospital and with the help of Atlanta Lab Rescue and we are starting her healing journey! This pup LOVES people and children! She also loves other dogs! Her eyes spoke to our souls when she was brought in and then left with her owner with no care to help make her better. Our team stepped into action and we waited patiently for reply from ALR to help with our efforts. This sweet soul has a broken leg that our orthopedic DVM will be fixing this week! She has been dragging herself around with her front legs trying to get from point A to point B. She has courage, strength and the will to fight! These ortho surgeries cost thousands of dollars for implants, anesthesia, volunteer time, after care, pain medications, radiographs, and rehabilitation. Not only does she have a broken leg on one side, but her other hip is dislocated and eventually down the road after the broken leg is healed, we will have to perform yet another ortho procedure called and FHO to fix the other leg. She will undergo quite the journey to recovery but with your help and the help of the amazing staff I work with I know we can do it! We are looking to raise at least $5,000. Yes, it is a lot but this pup is going to take a lot of work and time. She is sooo young, at only about 12 months old, and has her whole life ahead of her and we want her to have that opportunity and find her perfect forever home when the time comes.
