Keenan Family (PASC) Disability Support

Hi, for those that don’t know me, my name is Danielle Keenan, I’m a single mother of a 10 yr old boy, and our lives were turned upside down by PASC (Post-acute sequelae of COVID-19). What is PASC you might ask? It is commonly known as Long Covid.
I caught the Covid virus the first week of March 2020, and basically have never recovered. I did work for 15 months to the best of my ability, but something was really wrong. By that time there were so many medical issues, I just could no longer work, my brain and body just wouldn’t let me. I was having Panic attacks, brain fog, short term memory loss, abnormally high heart rate, higher than normal blood pressure, struggling to breath when walking, I lost use of my legs, I could go on and on but it is a lot. By June 2021, I was put on Short Disability, at which time I got Covid again, as did my son. I also applied for Social Security Disability due to the advice my Long Covid Medical team.
On January 1, 2022 I was asked to either return to work or to resign. With a heavy heart, I had no choice but to resign. For the first time since I was 13 years old I couldn’t hold a job. I supported us with my retirement fund, but by May 2023 everything was gone. Disability at that time was rejected my benefits for the 3rd time. Therefor I’ve have hod no income since January 2022.
I have now had Covid 4 times, and my son two times. He has Long Covid as well, his GI system has declined after Covid and he now has constant issues with Anxiety and Colitis. He’s missed so much school, it’s so hard to watch him suffer the way he does. I am a shell of the person I used to be, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel broken due to it all.
So many kind people have helped over these past 5 months and I am eternally grateful to all of them. Their kindness touches my heart more than you can know. We still have a lot to overcome, so please help me support my son and I. We have so many bills that have built up, medical, utility, car payment and insurance, rent, and basics needs. Even the smallest amount can help and will go a long way. We would be eternally grateful. As soon as I am back on my feet, I will pay it forward in as many ways as possible. God bless all you.
