Keep Dad In His Home
Donation protected
My dad is my hero, and he has been my whole life. He's in need of a hero right now, but my shoulders are not broad enough to be his hero on my own. So I humbly ask for your help in being his hero. Please read his story, and any way you can help will be appreciated- more than I can return in a lifetime.
For those that know our family, you might know we lost our mother and wife back in November of 2015 due to complications of cancer. It is still difficult every day to not have her by our sides. She knew how to work through every stuggle we had. However, we are healing slowly and we are here for eachother.
In late September of 2016 my dad injured his back severly and has been out of work since that date. Following up with a doctor, we discovered he woud need spinal surgery. With the knowledge that this injury would keep him from work for quite some time we had made an appeal to workers comp that would later be denied. Dad has had to use only his savings to keep his roof over his head.
Just as we were seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, with is surgery scheduled and recovery time in place, there was a complication with a pre-op physical. After some tests were done we were crushed to find that he would need open heart surgery before we could do anything about his injured spine. Somehow heart surgery carried a much scarrier tone to it than the spinal surgery, and our fears hung over our heads the days leading up to his surgery.
With having no income over these last 9 months, our main fear is that he would lose his house. The house he built with his wife, raised his children in, and made millions of memories (mainly in the kitchen.) My dad can go without a lot of the creature comforts, and he doesnt need a lot, but this home is everyhting to him. It carries all the good memories he needs on the days that feel impossible, and the holds all the love that a heart can bare- my mother lived in that house aferall, and she was love incarnate.
My main goal with this fundraiser is to help my dad remain in his home. I can't imagine him losing his home while in the porcess of recovering from these surgeries.
I've seen that miracles that can happen when you ask for help, so here I am asking. Any way you can help is a step forward for us. Donating to this cause, sharing with friends and family, or simply sending all of the positivity you can in his direction.
There are multiple ways to doante, if you are able. You can choose to donate directly though go fund me, or there is paypal and venmo, or cash/check.
For those that would like to donate cash/check, or just a little bit of your time there is a benefit being held on:

Thank you for your time and anything you can do to help. There is no way I will ever be able to say thank you enough, but I will do everything I can to come close.
