Keep Eliot Church's Doors Open to Those in Need

Hi All,

I’m raising funds for Eliot Presbyterian Church, a place deeply rooted in my family’s history and the heart of Lowell, MA. I'm the daughter of a long time church goer and used to attend Eliot growing up. My mother has attended Eliot since 1981, my dad was sponsored by an Eliot Church member, and they got married there. This church welcomed my parents and other refugees with open arms and continues to be a place for multicultural worship with services in Khmer and English.

Eliot Presbyterian Church in Lowell, MA, has long been a cornerstone of compassion, offering shelter and resources to the city’s unhoused neighbors. Through their Day Center, the church provides critical services such as daytime shelter, meals, clothing, hygiene supplies, spiritual care, and housing support, all while fostering dignity and hope.

Recently, the City of Lowell imposed a daily fine of $300 on the church, citing issues linked to its outreach efforts. This fine threatens to undermine Eliot Church's mission and the vital support it provides to vulnerable community members. The church plans to appeal the fines.

We are launching this GoFundMe to help Eliot Church continue to keep operating its Day Program, which serves the Lowell community, and to cover any maintenance on the Church. Every contribution directly supports the church in its stand for justice and compassion, ensuring that it can keep its doors open to those in need.
