Keep Flesor’s Open

Friends of Flesor’s Candy Kitchen,

Its hard to ask for help, yet we need your help more than ever.

You may recall that our business won a $40,000 grant last year from

the National Trust for Historic Preservation — one that would allow us to replace the rotten wood and leaky windows in the facade of our first building. When our carpenter started removing the damaged materials, we were hit with a ton of bricks - literally. We discovered our 1871 building is suffering from structural damage: rotted wooden beams, bowing walls, loose and falling brick. If we ignore it, we will lose the building and our iconic business. We must face the problem head on!

Saving Flesor’s Candy Kitchen will cost around $250,000. This additional financial obligation is a huge burden, especially after losses during the pandemic and after “buying out” sister’s half of the business.

We must continue to run our store while the extensive reconstruction is going on. We have chocolate to buy, long term employees to keep employed, taxes, insurance, and all the rest.

Our store will have to be rearranged and look a little different during the process. Plans as of now are for the work to start in June. We are unsure how long this project will take. We will remain OPEN (as long as we are able) during this process. Keep checking our Facebook for updates!
