Keep Forest Hill Nature Preschool Funded
Forest Hill Nature Preschool is in my opinion
one of if not the best preschool in all of Harford county. It is affordable and offers so much more for our children than just a daycare or
traditional preschool. My daughter cries that
she misses her friends and teachers. During this Pandemic Miss Lavonne the owner and
operator (the Heart) of Forest Hill Nature
Preschool provides children with a safe, loving, nurturing learning environment. The school has highly qualified and devoted teachers,
including an art teacher, special education
teacher, a Spanish teacher, yoga teacher, and a
“wild in the woods” nature teacher. She applied to be able to stay open for children of essential personnel, but to keep her employees paid as well as continue to provide the best care for the
children currently in the program. She was
promised payment from the state of Maryland and has yet to receive any payment for nearly 4 weeks of childcare. She has applied for
numerous loans and has yet to hear back about the loans either. She is using her own savings
and lines of credit to continue to remain open.
She held a fundraiser called “Preschool Prom”
and raised $4,000 for The Children’s Miracle
Network, which helps children that are in the
hospital through Johns Hopkins. Also, Basket
Bingo, FHNP’s only fundraiser to help the
school pay for supplies for the children, was
scheduled for April but cancelled due to coronavirus. When I heard this devastating news it broke my heart and the thought of someone so
generous having to drain their own savings
account and get out loans just to pay their
employees is awful. She should not have to do
this alone! None of us should have to do this
alone!! I know this is a difficult time for many,
but any amount can make a difference for our
children and teachers and Forest Hill Nature
Preschool! Please consider donating any
amount to help with the expenses during this
difficult time.
