Joe Gonzalez's Fight against Cancer

Joe Gonzalez is a Port Isabel native, father, grandfather, devoted son and partner, and for over 22 years, the smiley and friendly Joe G. you've seen bartending at Louie's Backyard.

In early February, Joe G. began falling in and out of severe illness. Over the course of nearly two months, his health has diminished, resulting in frequent visits to the doctor and numerous test results of high concern, with no specific diagnosis. Joe will be traveling to his scheduled appointment on April 1st to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for further testing and subsequent care. Ever dedicated, Joe G. has toughed through some work, but his absence will have a heavy financial impact and the cost of treatment and ongoing care will be unmanageable, so we are raising money to help.

All donations will be used to cover the cost of travel, hotel and hospital stays, and likely his chemotherapy and medications. Every dollar will make a difference in Joe's fight.
