Keep Guapo and Friends Healthy and Happy

Hello everyone, My name is Lynn Jamerson. I have been rescuing, caring for, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals for over 50 years. I am a retired first career, veterinary technician second career California State Parks. I have rescued numerous animals in desperate need throughout my life and veterinary career and my state parks career. I’ve worked extremely hard throughout my life and I’ve always cared and provided for my animals out-of-pocket. This has come at great cost both financially and personally, though I wouldn’t change a thing.

I currently have three rescue donkeys, a thoroughbred horse, a goat, and a very special colossal, gigantic Holstein steer Guapo. He was rescued in a very desperate state about two months old knowing nothing about cattle, I had to make a very quick decision to save his life. Guapo has grown to be a 6‘2“ tall, 10 1/2 feet long, and a 3000 pounds of absolute, pure love, joy, and sweetness. I have learned so much along this journey with him and I’m indeed blessed to have such a special animal in my life.

Guapo has inspired two children’s books Guapo’s giant heart and Guapo’s great rescue. His books are a labor of love by the author Janet Zappala, who was very touched by his story. And whom has gone to great cost to promote his beautiful stories. Sharing Guapo's life lessons and joy for all children and adults to read. Guapo is now eight years old, and I believe the oldest Holstein supersize steer in the world, and one of the third largest as well. I truly believe he is an incredible ambassador to how special kind, caring, and sweet he is considering his great size and Holstein temperaments.

Guapo and his friends donkeys Jack and Jill and Barney, Bambi, the goat and big Red, the thoroughbred, including my cats and dogs. all rescues, they reside at my ranch and are permanent residence and at their forever home with me. As Guapo has aged I have made great efforts to make his life as comfortable as possible being so extremely large I go to great financial cost to keep him healthy, comfortable and enhance his mobility. I have Guapo on numerous supplements, Being so large, this takes a toll on his joints and overall health, along with his regular feed, Guapo consumes approximately 100 pound bale a day of grass hay. Along with the supplements that I give him and his friends big Red Horse has serious issue with his legs due to the abuse he sustained and has to have special supplements for his comfort as well, and Bambi our goat is aging and having arthritic issues and also is on special supplements for her comfort and mobility.

The costs of maintaining my animals health and plus the increase in feed and supplementation have gone up considerably. The cost of regular grass hay feed has gone up substantially as well.

I am asking for help for feed and supplementation and veterinary care for my rescue animals.

Providing for animals has been the greatest purpose in my life. I believe all animals create such a wonderful, joyful, purposeful existence to humanity, all God‘s creatures create an incredible balance to life on earth. With your help, I will continue doing what I do best helping caring for providing a home and loving animals in need giving them their absolute best life possible.
