The Friends of Janet Draffin is charged with preserving and extending Janet’s good works and accomplishments by funding scholarships for Bayport-Blue Point youth involved in Civic works.

About Janet Draffin:

In honor of Janet Draffin of Bayport, whose kindness knew no bounds, we come together to celebrate her remarkable life and continue her legacy of giving back to various community projects.

Janet lived to bring joy, togetherness and unity! Her impact reached far and wide, from her valuable contributions to the Bayport-Blue Point community to her tireless efforts and accomplishments with the Sayville Rotary (past Secretary, Immediate past President and awarded multiple times a Paul Harris Fellow), the Bayport-Blue Point Beautification Committee, and the Bayport-Blue Point (BBP) Junior Civic Association. As the founding member of the BBP Junior Civic Association, she instilled in young minds the importance of civic duty and community involvement. Janet’s love for our community and her spirit continues to inspire us all.

Bayport Blue Point Junior Civic Association:

Two towns one community is the guiding light of the Bayport-Blue Point Junior Civic Association. For over ten years through the Junior Civic, local children have visited seniors in local nursing homes, removed debris from our beautiful Great South Bay, helped residents with their Christmas trees at St. Ann's, beautified local gardens, collected and distributed back to school items for underprivileged local youth and performed countless other community service projects. Such acts taught our youth what it means to be active citizens. Janet Draffin created and has run the BBP Junior Civic for over ten years because she understood how important it is for local children to be engaged in community life. In Janet’s name, our civic is now being recast and renamed the Bayport-Blue Point Junior Civic Association. This new junior civic recognizes and fulfills the guiding vision of our many community organizations. We are two towns one community.

Goals:

With Janet’s passing, we aim to keep her memory alive through a foundation that will honor her legacy for generations to come. The Friends of Janet Draffin Memorial Foundation will provide funding to worthwhile community projects including scholarships to students of the Bayport-Blue Point Community who embody Janet’s spirit of kindness, compassion and selflessness.

Your donation will not only honor Janet’s memory but will also empower students to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on the world, just as Janet did. Together, let us ensure that Janet’s legacy of service and generosity continues to shine brightly in our community.
