I don’t even know how to start this. So I’m gonna say what I feel. I’m asking for your help, the man I love is laying in a hospital room with a broken back (L2 vertebrae bulging toward his spinal column).
He will undergo surgery Monday, but that’s just a small battle in the war he’s facing. It is going to be a long road for him in therapy for the next 12 weeks, and recovering for the next year.
Our lives have come to an abrupt halt. Like many of us he was taking a much deserved break, just trying to have some fun. He landed wrong on a trampoline, resulting in a broken back. This vivacious, fun-loving man is lying there questioning his future quality-of-life.
Those who have the privilege of knowing Kelso can attest to what an amazing man he is. He is always there for anyone in need. He is kind, compassionate, and generous of spirit.

He is putting himself through college; working very hard studying astrophysics (with a 4.0).
I’m asking for help from anyone who sees this. The financial burden is growing. We have applied for insurance but are not sure what will be covered or how many months he will be unable to work. He also won’t be able to drive himself while he is healing. Kelso will need months of physical therapy, and will have to spend a lot of time recovering. Rent, utilities, food, insurance, everyday life/living costs, as well as the cost of tuition for the upcoming semester. (He is currently awaiting acceptance into USC for the Fall semester, he is so brilliant) Not having any sort of income because of this medical emergency has started to weigh heavy on him. Especially anticipating the next several months of limited activity.
I’m grateful that so many people have already reached out to me wanting to know how they can help. I also hope there are those out there that may not know Kelso but can see the situation and desire to help.
Although I am asking for finances, I’m also asking for prayers. I just love him so much. I don’t know what else to do or where else to turn. God has been solid for me as He has been my whole life. I have asked Him to place the correct medical team with Kelso to assure a successful outcome. But, unfortunately, bills still need to be paid. He can’t work and it’s hard for me to leave his side. I’m sure most of you know how it feels when someone you love is suffering.

If you are able to give, please do. If you are unable to give, please pray for his well-being as well as for the surgeons, the doctors, and the physical therapists who will work to get him back to the man he is.

Thank you for reading this. Thanks to everyone that can give financially and God bless everyone for praying for us.
Forever in your debt,
Grace Fobes
