Keep Kidopolis
A locally owned Treasure in Ann Arbor, Michigan beckons to be a Keepsake!
Dear Friends ,
Although we are mainly known for birthday parties, cold weather Saturday play and some memorable family events those have overshadowed a more important purpose. There's been a bigger goal with "mission control" (for those who have launched the shuttle in our Space Room). That goal has been to spotlight our greatest asset of all, our Imagination. And, why not? It's served us with an impressive timeline of inventions. Where would we be without it?
Outwardly, Kidopolis set the "stage" in a very green way. Upcycling not only encourages a sustainable mindset but shows we cheer for Team Earth in a fun way!
At its core, Kidopolis was designed to exercise thinking in an Imaginative way by using role play, creating a place where kids can both play and learn at the same time. When our imaginations are engaged, our brains do a crossfit workout by coordinating multiple networks simultaneously. Since they tend to prefer doing minimal, this is King of workouts. Building Kidopolis from scratch was one enormous S.T.E.M project. I can say firsthand without a level of proficient imagination, it would have never happened.
Kid’s are innate master “imagineers”, but there are some forces competing for their young minds. Screen time can get monotonous leaving us unfulfilled, sometimes posing behavioral issues. Playing the role of advocate "Learnologist" but also as parent, the rate of technification is enough of a reason to continue this quest. And for all the parents and grandparents who have been on the same wavelength, they know who they are, a galaxy-sized hug!

Prior to COVID-19 we were working on some new projects for an upgraded version of Kidopolis. But early in March we closed for precautionary measures, sooner than the State Mandated. Although knowing it was the
right thing to do, it was abruptly difficult. It couldn't have come at a worse time for us as it was our high season. Canceling many Birthday parties, scheduled family events and now some summer field trips has been
devastating for such a small operation with big ideas and plans! Kidopolis knows tough times. It has fought
with one hand behind it's back. Since opening we have been operating as a nonprofit but without corporate
sponsorship or the official status of a nonprofit.
The government small business relief programs that were meant to support small businesses havent given half of what we needed. Since we were family run and having no employees, the payroll protection program wasnt
available. So we are asking those who like to have wonderful options in the area for families and kids of all
ages to please help by donating and sharing with your friends and family. Kidopolis has been dedicated for 5 years now we ask you all to help a local treasure to battle through these near 7 months being closed we really
need help. This is a critical crossroad for us. The community will be the greatest beneficiary of Kidopolis
sticking around. We know you would love to be a part of preserving such a unique environment that supports kids’ creative potentials. After all, your contributions will ultimately be an investment on our greatest assets,
young minds. They can deliver immeasurably returns. The money donated will also go towards rent and
utilities that we are still owed to pay while not being open for business as we are trying hard waiting for this
pandemic to begin to recede. Thank you for your And THANK YOU for the ones who have given repeated support over these years and will continue to give. Now more than ever we have to use our Imaginations!
Sincerely the Best to you All,
Kidopolis
