WE ARE VERY SAD TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE CLOSED FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE! The sprinkler system in Taj, the restaurant above Local 31, malfunctioned on Saturday, November 23rd, and water poured down through our ceiling, damaging ceilings and walls. Which means that all of the drywall, ceilings, and insulation have to be removed and replaced. We are dealing with insurance companies and contractors to get back up and running as soon as possible. But the current reopening estimate is two months away. That puts us into February 2025. As sad as this is in our first year of business, it is especially sad to have this happen just prior to the holidays. Our ten loyal employees will have to go without work, get on unemployment, or have to look for something new. Our insurance will cover their lost wages, but we have to front their paychecks and hope the insurance comes through quickly. Plus, we will miss all of you!
We’re especially grateful to @AshlandFireDepartment and Ashland Property Management for their help.
We’d also like to express our deepest sympathy to our upstairs neighbors, Paul and Inder, owners of Taj, as they are dealing with this mess too!
Our hope is to come back better than ever with a new delicious, made-from-scratch food menu, and creative cocktail menu. We will also bring back great live music on Friday and Saturday nights, Ashland’s best Karaoke on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Video Game Night, Service Industry Night, Saturday afternoons filled with Irish music, and the Americana/Folk Jam on Sunday afternoons. We will be sure to update you about our progress using our e-newsletters and social media.
As difficult as it already is to make a restaurant successful in the current economy, this closure is really going to hurt us financially. If you are moved to help us navigate this mess financially, we’d happily accept donations using this GoFundMe page.
Please let your friends know and wish us luck.
