Keep Malachi's Music Education Journey Alive

My name is Malachi, and I am currently a third year student at The University of Texas in Austin studying Music Education. I hope to graduate and become a full time choir director and share the joys of music making with future generations of students for years to come.

I have been self-sustaining on my journey through college for 2 years now, and for quite some time, have also picked up the responsibility of sending financial support to family back at home. This is something I have facilitated for years by working multiple jobs when my course load allowed, as well as taking on incredibly high hour workloads when I was not actively in school. A lot of this financial support was sent with a large chunk of my college financial aid fund under the condition that it would be returned to me by a certain day, and unfortunately I have yet to receive any of this money back 6 weeks after the deadline that was promised to me by family.

I have been going so far as to skip meals, classes, and career development opportunities in order to save money and increase my work hours to try and make up for this deficit, but unfortunately the amount lost is too large to make up for someone who is both a part time worker and full time student. I was only informed a few days ago that as of now, none of the money that was promised to me is even in possession to be returned, and I am currently left with less than a week to raise those missing funds in order to avert the risk of losing my apartment. I am afraid that despite consulting all of my options and taking as many steps as possible towards increasing my income without completely sacrificing my academics, I cannot do it alone.

Any donation in support of helping me continue my college journey would be incredibly appreciated, and any extra funds beyond this goal would go towards future bills and responsibilities in order to allow myself time to rebuild a proper amount of savings.
