Keep Mandarava on Inn Street

UPDATE :

Hi, it’s me, Mary. 

 This past Thursday morning I was high speed rear ended on the highway and rushed to hospital with head trauma. I’m very lucky and happy to be alive. 

 The force of the vehicle from behind obliterated the back half of my car. My headrest was thrown off, seat bent and twisted backwards. I was able to drag myself over a guard rail to wait for EMS. In another few days a police report may shed light on who else was involved and how they made out. 

 My injuries will heal in time. 

 For the moment, all activities at Mandarava are on hold. ‘Cooking with Mary’ session one will be rescheduled for later in the fall and all September dinner reservations are cancelled. 

 The goal on our gofundme is once again adjusted, which gives me a laugh. Thank you for any support you’re able to lend. This makes a sprained foot feel like a joke. And to be honest also makes the grind of creation, production, clean up, bills all the more obvious a blessing. And all the more non-serious a task. 

 Life is precious.

UPDATE:

We’re reopening the gofundme because Mary’s injured and will be off her feet for a week or so. In that time, there’s limited opportunity for sales and plenty of unrelenting bills. 

As a 90% one-woman-show, I cannot overstate how much any support whatsoever is appreciated at a time like this.

This experience, asking for help and receiving it has been really very beautiful. 

Our practical update is —

1. Sales exploded. This is cash flow and continued viability as new and returning customers are finding out / remembering what we do with food.
2. Bills paid. Electric and gas are current. Funny enough, overhead lights in the kitchen went out dramatically on Monday but it’s a wiring issue and the landlord is gonna fix it.
3. Friends and family. Energy from this cannot be overstated. Love and trust shown by sharing your resources, using your own hard won platform to express camaraderie is encouraging to the max.

We’ve adjusted the goal on goFundme to reflect gifts that came through other channels ie. Venmo.

We’ll keep this open a bit longer and hope to clear this hurdle completely.
