Keep Marcella's Doors Open to be able to Relocate.

Hello, my name is Roman Duran. In 1969, my mother and father, Alfredo and Emma Duran, opened a small local spot called Marcella's (named after my older sister) in a small town in Hughson, CA. They started off small, working together side by side. Then, a year later in 1970, they opened their first restaurant on Old Oakdale Rd. Gracefully, in 1977, they opened Marcella's on Tully and Standiford. They both had the pleasure to serve the community of Modesto. Unfortunately, in 1982, my mother passed away and was survived by my father, who operated both restaurants until 1996, which left the Tully location going to this day. Within the years, it has been handed down to generations to continue their legacy and strive to do their best!

Now, as the economic daily struggle has hit us hard, as every other hardworking class, it is hard to make ends meet for their families with pandemics and skyrocketing prices. Unfortunately, it is hard to keep up. It has come to a temporary end until we are able to relocate. As our time here at the frontier town has come to an end, we are setting up a fundraiser and donation fund for them to continue the legacy.

All we ask is for you, friends and family, to come by and support your local family restaurant, enjoy your favorite meal, and enjoy our final days at Marcella Mexican Restaurant.
