Keep Jason Safe and Housed (again)

If you thought it was hard for me to publicly ask for help the first time, well, having to ask a second time is like gorging on a bakery full of humble pie.

There's a lot headed in the right direction, but I find myself once again in a place of desperate and urgent need.

Sonya, my property manager, has been running a lot of interference for me, and I appreciate how fortunate I am - but we are at the limits of that and if I do not have at least half of this cleared by Tuesday, they will start eviction proceedings.

So I am once again pleading for your help.

First, the good stuff.

In about 2 months I'll be giving a talk for the MIT Sloan Alumni Association in San Francisco where I'll be rebooting my business based on the leadership material I've been fleshing out. That's always been the most fundamental building block of this business: do talks --> get clients.

I'm down 55 pounds, and I feel better mentally and emotionally than I've felt in ... about 5 maybe even 6 years. To say I feel like myself again finally is ... well, for those of you who have known me for a couple of decades and seen me at my best ... I feel like I have that back.

And we've finally got the TokMedia folks straightened out after a few months of frustration, breakdowns, assertive conversations, and delays.
We finally restarted the TikTok ad campaign yesterday. The infrastructure has been built out so the automated workflows (texts, emails, booking) that have prospects get in the pipeline to have a conversation with me are set.

That's after we had the very rude awakening that, while the relationship material we developed for men is an awesome course and what every man needs -- if you ask women. Meaning: we developed a product that the original intended target market - men between 30-60 - just doesn't want.

We developed two new scripts: one targeting women (read by a woman) and another one targeting men (read by me). The hope is that the new scripts and the new ads will be more effective and the automated workflows will have respondents be more engaged in the process.

Anyway, while we have been dedicating all our time and energy to this, everything has taken 3x longer than we thought it would and we have netted exactly $0 in the last several months - and we thought we'd be pulling in revenue by last October.

I have never been comfortable with passive marketing.

So, in my newly suit-fitting form, I'm returning to the basics and just hitting networking events here in Seattle with tech people and founders, which is really well suited to all of my offerings for 1:1 work. Not giving up on the TiklTok campaign, but need to feel back in control of my results.

Be that as it may, I am once again facing eviction - 3 months behind on my rent (which is $6,000) [+ $1,000 in accused late fees I have not been maintaining]. And, of course, I'm also 3 months behind on my utilities, which I am responsible for.

And anything helps.

Humbly, and With Gratitude.
