Keep Oasis Housing's Community Thriving

Oasis Housing is dedicated to transforming the lives of high-risk individuals with mental illness by providing stable, supportive housing. We provide family-style boarding homes that cater to individuals with emotional or mental health challenges, ensuring they have a safe and nurturing environment.

Residents are at high-risk of suicide or return to institutions. Our staff provides assistance with daily needs, meals, medication management, and maintaining a clean, orderly home. We also help residents access medical appointments, apply for benefits, and work toward independence. For some, that means moving into their own apartment; for others, long-term support may be necessary. At Oasis, our goal is to help every resident stabilize, thrive and live their best life.

Our community at the men's house is facing an unexpected challenge: the landlord has informed us that he needs to sell the property we're renting. Due to the current housing market, the property is no longer generating the return they need. As a result, they’ve decided to sell the house and have kindly given us until February to relocate. This funding would help cover the difference in cost from the old rental to the new rental for a full year.

Why This Matters
Currently, we serve 7-9 residents at the men’s house, all of whom are stable and thriving in the supportive community we've worked so hard to build. The friendships they’ve formed and the positive atmosphere they've created are truly invaluable. Our small, dedicated staff—two single mothers—are doing exceptional work, and the impact our program has had on the men in our care cannot be overstated. The thought of having to shut our doors and disband this incredible community is unimaginable.

We have found a home that will work for us and a landlord willing to rent to our unique program if we move in in January. The challenge is that the rent is $1,000 more than what we are currently paying. Although the rent is at current market rate it is a huge challenge for us with the limited funding we receive. We need $4,500 each month to meet this challenge.
