Help Paul’s Hot Dogs get a food truck

As many as you know, Martin “Paul” LaRussa, owner and founder of Paul’s Hot Dog’s & Grill, started his life long dream in January 1993. He was the 11th food place to open in Trussville, AL. The store wasn’t just a job to him, but a passion. He loved being there, serving people, and most of all he loved his customers. It was always in his plans to give the store over to his grandson Luke LaRussa when he retired. Luke started working with his grandfather Paul when he was just 16 years old and was by his grandfathers side every day prepping him for the day that he would take over the business. Paul taught Luke everything there is to know about the store and all the special recipes. In October of 2020, Paul’s wife, Sandra fell ill and was hospitalized for 4 months. Paul was by her side every single day, as well as managing the store. During that time, business slowed down due to COVID. Paul decided to move the store from its original location to Clay, AL in hopes that it would be better for business. A month later, his wife Sandra passed. Paul was left with nothing but a broken heart, but he was still trying to keep the store going in its new location. Unfortunately, with all of these things, bills started to fall behind. 4 months later, Paul fell ill and was hospitalized with COVID pneumonia and unexpectedly passed. At that time, Luke took over as owner and had to take over the bills and debt. Luke loves the store just as much as his grandfather did, and so he knew he had a job to do and took everything head on to keep his grandfathers legacy alive just as they had always planned on doing. Due to the debt of the store, Luke has never been able to get quite on his feet just right so he has been keeping the store open even without being able to pay himself. It’s all been from nothing but love, and we desperately want to continue our grandfathers legacy and not let the community that loves Paul’s Hot Dog’s and Grill down. In order to keep things going, we need your help. We need donations so we can get a food truck and be able to continue on serving the “best food in town.” We would so greatly appreciate it with all of our hearts and we thank you for your support and love.
