Keep Public Assistants' Studio Open!

Public Assistants - a vital thread in the Brooklyn community - NEEDS YOU to see us through another year in our store-front outpost! We need $25,200 for rent and utilities to maintain our headquarters and studio!

Focused on addressing systemic inequality and neglect, Public Assistants is using art and mutual-aid as tools to nourish our direct community and educate the broader public of the issues facing our most marginalized friends.

With your help, we could continue to house our program of community-based performances, workshops, social services, and limited-time events and exhibits. We can continue producing print and published media works, community radio, graphic design, film and video, and visual arts, and we can continue to be a studio space for a select group of Brooklyn-based artists and the Divine Fellows (a PA partnership with the Center for Art and Activism and Eureka! Press).

The studio hosts free events and performances that bring diverse groups of individuals together to elevate and engage with artists and organizers. In November the studio featured a performance installation from DonChristianJones and Eiko Otake entiled "Wet". Please take a look. They co-edited a 7-projection video and had a dialogue, with and without words, between each other and with visitors who could come and go during the three hours.

In these uncertain times, our community of QTBIPOC artists and organizers need a safe space to create and be supported more than ever.
