Keeping Scott and Alyssa Above Water

29-year-old Yooper mother of 2 babies, from Tapiola, suffers stroke, limiting circulation to her brain, due to a blood clot, for 9 hours before successful removal.
Tragically, Alyssa Kinnunen, soulmate to Scotty Johnson, of L’Anse, suffered a life changing stroke this past Saturday, September 7th, and to this minute, is still fighting for her life.
She is a young mother of a boy and a girl, Kyson (9 months), and Teagan (18 months). She has suffered permanent damage and critical loss of movement in her left arm and hand.
Currently, she has not been able to begin therapy as her heart remains in Afib (Atrial Fibrillation). Scotty and children have been with her throughout the entire ordeal, as she was transferred to Portage Hospital by ambulance, then to Marquette, and finally to Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, by helicopter, where they were able to successfully remove the unusually large clot. The prognosis right now is a minimum of 2 to 3 months of Inpatient recovery and therapy, although they are hoping for a transfer to Marquette as soon as certain milestones have been met. Alyssa is a stay-at-home mom and her babies had never spent a single day away from her. Scotty is, obviously, now unable to work as he must be the caregiver to their 2 very young children; as well as be by Alyssa’s side as much as feasible. He is a machinist / programmer in Calumet, Michigan. He is presently utilizing his vacation time. The expenses in a situation such as this add up quickly, particularly when all paid vacation time has been utilized, and we are attempting to assist Scott and Alyssa in helping to ensure that their bills get paid and alleviate the worry of the expenses of traveling back and forth to Green Bay to be with Alyssa.
