Help Seiji & James' Meetup group

Hello everyone. This is Seiji from James and Seiji's English and Japanese Conversation Group.

One year and four months have passed since I came to the UK. When I first came to the UK, I didn't have any friends, so I happened to participate in this meetup when I first met James (in the beginning, this meetup was run by Masa and James, and then I took over after Masa left to return to Japan). At first, there were about 10 participants around a small table, but now there are more than 900 members, and the number of participants at each meetup has increased to about 40-50. When I first started, I never thought it would get this big and positively impact so many people in the Japanese and English learning community in London.

Coming to the UK, I was able to meet a lot of people through this meetup. And we would like to continue to meet more people, and continue to provide opportunities for language exchange and friendship-making for everyone.

I am currently in the process of switching from YMS visa to Skilled Worker Visa. Fortunately, the company I am currently working for sponsors me, but I must pay the IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) when applying for a Skilled Worker Visa.

The cost of this IHS is so high that I can’t cover it with my savings alone, so here I am exploring crowdfunding.

If you think the meetups we organise are fun and you want to continue to participate in the future, it doesn't matter if it's just a little bit, I would appreciate it if you could help me by contributing to our crowdfunding effort.

I'm sorry if I confused you with my sudden request. To be honest, I'm not sure if this crowdfunding will go well, but I'm really grateful that I've met so many wonderful friends since coming to the UK. 僕がイギリスに来て１年と４ヶ月が経ちました。イギリスに来た当初は友達がおらず、たまたま参加したこのミートアップでジェームスと出会い（初めこのミートアップはマサとジェームスの二人で立ち上げ、その後、僕がマサの後を引き継ぎました）、初めは１０人ほどの参加者で小さいテーブルを囲っていたのですが、現在では９００人以上のメンバーの方がおり、毎回の参加者の人数は４０−５０人程になりました。初めの頃は、まさかここまで大きくなるとは思っていませんでした。

イギリスに来て、このミートアップを通してたくさんの人と出会うことができました。そしてこれからもより多くの人と出会い、また皆さんにとっていい言語交流の機会、友達作りの場所を提供し続けていきたいと思います。

僕は今、幸運にも現在勤めている会社がスポンサーになってくれるということで、YMSビザからSkilled Worker Visaへ切り替えをしている最中なのですが、一つ問題を抱えています。Skilled Worker Visaを申請する際にIHS（Immigration Health Surcharge）を払わなければいけません。

このIHSの費用が高額で、僕の貯金だけではカバー出来ず、クラウドファンディングを立ち上げることになりました。

もし僕たちが企画しているミートアップを楽しいと思えていただき、これからも参加したいと思えていただけるなら、ほんの少しでも構いません。どうかこのクラウドファンディングに協力頂けると嬉しいです。
