Keep SMART Liberia’s U.S. Scholars in School
Dear Friends,
We are pleased to extend to you compliments on behalf of SMART Liberia.
As you might be aware, we currently have 26 young leaders studying abroad mainly in the U. S. - many of whom have completed their second year of schooling while few are left with a semester to graduate. SMART Liberia raises close to $500k annually to support these who have received partial financial aid. As a result of the pandemic, we have been locked out of registering for classes. The emotional and physical stress on our students have been severe and we are doing all we can to ameliorate the situation.
As of the 23rd of December, these young Liberian students are being processed to non-students status without the opportunity of actualizing their dreams of a quality education. With nowhere to go, our students will be stranded far away home. Against this backdrop, we are reaching out to you, to kindly intervene to keep our scholars in school. Our scholars are pursuing degrees in Cyber Security, Law, Engineering, Business Administration, Aerospace, etc. These are crucial skills for Liberia’s transformation and all the scholars are committed to returning home to contribute to Liberia’s development upon graduation.
We would like you to kindly donate to help keep our students in school for the spring semester that commences in just a week.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to your consideration.
Best regards,
SMART Liberia
