Keep the ETHS-Northwestern iron pour collaboration alive!

Donation protected
Imagine a high school parking lot transformed into a glowing foundry, where hands-on learning meets 1000lbs of molten iron! Thank you in advance for enabling this unforgettable educational experience hosted by Evanston Township High School and students from Northwestern University.

To better understand what you'll be supporting, please click here for a short video to watch sparks fly (literally) at a past pour.

This year's seventh annual public iron pour event is scheduled for Saturday, May 10th to coincide with the National Science Foundation’s 75th Anniversary and their nationwide “NSF STEM Day.” Generous partners have already donated materials, but unforeseen events have us seeking this additional monetary support to ensure a safe, memorable, and professional environment for all participants and spectators.

Student mold designs are currently being 3D-printed into blocks of sand (yes, that's a thing!). By 8 p.m. on May 10, we hope to be pouring glowing liquid iron into them—if we can raise the final funds to make it happen safely.

Thank you again for helping us give students this inspirational, hands-on experience with fire, metal, dirt and imagination.
