Keep the heat on at the Warming Center

Commander Keith Hughes has been running the W. Seattle Warming Center with few volunteers and no outside funding for 4 winters now.

During weather events, Keith provides dozens of people refuge, a hot breakfast and dinner and a place to get cleaned up. He does this while spending 24 hrs a day there, sleeping in his office.

This year alone, far he's spent $12,000 of his own money and had a $3,000 Seattle City Light bill that went 90 days past due.

“Keep the Heat On” literally means being able to pay the gas, electric, water and sewer bills, insurance, and building maintenance (like cleaning supplies). He can’t keep doing it without our help. Every dollar makes a difference
