Keep the story alive...
Do you want to join me in making a difference?
We spend a huge amount of time at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome Limited applying to as many different funders to get as many grants as we can.
We also do everything we can to save money, too!
Sometimes though, we get ambushed.
In mid-April, Essex and Suffolk Water started roadworks on our access road - without warning us - that either closed or restricted visitors getting to us. They even turned visitors away. On top of that, a ten day work plan turned into 100 days! This has seen our income plummet to lower than 50% and we're in really trouble. We need your help.
The thing is, even if the roadworks disappear and the road is re-opened, the damage has been done. To the tune of thousands and thousands of pounds.
It's visitors that pay our running costs - something grants rarely, if ever, will cover. No funder likes paying the electricity bill!
If you can help, it would be brilliant - every donation matters!
As an example -
- £10 buys a volunteer shirt.
- £15 pays for the electricity for the volunteer office for a day.
- £20 fills a mower with fuel.
- £50 pays for a new pad of ACE Object forms for our collection
- £75 replaces a tyre on our van
- £100 pays for electricity for all of our 6 exhibitions for ONE WEEK.
- £400 pays for a School session for up to 30 young people
- £500 pays for the specialist exterior coating paint for ONE of our buildings, that lasts two years.
- £750 pays for the interpretation panels for one of our exhibitions.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me - and over 150 volunteers.
