Keep The Urban Ashram Alive in Bhaja's Memory

A man with a simple mission: Feed Everyone.

Bhajarangi Jaya served the community of Orlando through a steadfast commitment to caring and loving for all people. He operated under a guiding principle: that there are no throwaway people. He absolutely adored the most ignored and offered love to the most unlovable. As a result, he was moved to found The Urban Ashram of Orlando, which focused its proceeds on serving meals to the homeless residents in the community.

On Friday, January 10th, Bhajarangi Jaya (Christopher J. Boyden, 60 years old) passed away, leaving a hole in our hearts and our community. We are looking to honor his legacy by gathering funds to cover his funeral costs and continue the operations of The Urban Ashram in his absence. He ran the organization on his own as a sole proprietor, and now we are looking to assist in carrying his life's mission.

The Ashram has become a safe haven where singing, meditation, and processing grief are not only common but encouraged. The Ashram, now without our key leader, is in need of finances to keep our doors open to the community. So, if you feel moved to contribute towards Bhaja's cremation services or the Ashram's operations, any contribution will be appreciated while we regroup from this sudden loss.

The goal of this donation drive is set to cover the $1,200 Cremation cost and anything in addition will go to support the rent for the Ashram for between 3-6 months.
