Keep Tom's Family Stable During His Health Battle

I didn't want to do a go fund me in the beginning when I found out what the road ahead holds for us. But after speaking with some good people who told me not to be embarrassed or ashamed I'm now making one. I'm not one to ask for help, I said I'll figure it out. As many of you know Tom ’s heart failure has declined so bad that now he is in need of a heart and double lung transplant. The Doctors told us without these transplants he won't survive another year. He is on medication that’s similar to life support called milrinone which is run through a midline 24hrs a day, that I have to switch out the IV bag daily. It's job is to keep Tom stable and strengthen his heart (to make it to and through the surgery)while we wait at home for NYP Columbia to bring him in do their evaluation and officially list him. (they have already accepted his case) Anyone who knows Tom knows he's a fighter and he will make it through this. I'm trying to keep it together emotionally while taking care of Tom, Our kids, and Granddaughters. To the naked eye you'd look at Tom and not realize he's so sick, but he tries to be at all the kids sports which is really energy draining for him on top of the lack of energy he has now. Yesterday Tom did his last test required to go on the transplant list. He will be class A1 which puts him at the top tier of the list( this is a really good thing), but that being said once Tom has his initial appointment at NYP Columbia they may decide to keep him there in the hospital until he receives his transplants. In 2023 when Tom's health got bad I left my job as an RMA to be home with Tom and be his medical caretaker. Once Tom goes into the hospital I won't have any income (and my income is the majority income for our home and family) Tom's heart only functions at 10% where a normal heart is about 65%. For the past 5 years, it's only been his left side of his heart progressively worsening. In 2023 he got really bad. Between last June and now, his right side has started to fail severely. His lungs are shutting down. In one night, he can gain up to 25 lbs of fluid in his abdomen.

Once Toms journey at NYP starts there is no possible way that I will be able to pay our rent, the utilities, car payments, insurance, etc. Not to mention gas and tolls to get to Ny to see My husband and best friend. Unfortunately I can’t be Tom's care giver and go to work at the same time.

We have Taylor 23, Adrianna 17, Xavier 15, Mason 9, Jaxson 8, Brielle & Braxton 6. And her granddaughter Bella.

Please, if you are able to help me keep Our home and family stable while we are going through this I would be beyond grateful! Please find it in your heart to share even if you can't donate. And definitely send prayers, healing vibes and all the love to Tom, Myself and the family while we face this very scary time in our life. because as we all know any surgery can be risky, but for Tom to go through this surgery with an already extremely weak heart is a very very scary for Tom and Myself... We are just giving it to God!!!
