Keep Ty and Their Cat Safe and Sheltered

Hi everyone! :) My name is Ty.

I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’m reaching out for help because I’m at a breaking point. Right now, I’m struggling to afford my rent and basic living expenses while I work hard to get back on my feet.

I’m currently staying in an Extended Stay hotel with my cat, which is my only option for shelter as I am in-between apartments. Unfortunately, because I don’t have a formal lease, I don’t qualify for most rental assistance programs. I’m also actively job searching after having been laid off some months ago, but many remote jobs won’t send work equipment to my location due to security concerns or because I am unable to have a hard-wired internet connection. I’m also without a car, which makes finding in-person work even harder and essentially leaves me with no choice but to seek remote work since I cannot afford ride-shares at the moment.

Right now, I quite literally have $4 to my name, and my upcoming rent is due (I pay weekly at about $370/week.) I’m also behind on my phone bill, and will need food for my cat soon. I’ve explored every local resource I can, but I’m out of options.

I just need some temporary support to keep a roof over my head and avoid losing my place to stay with my cat. Any amount—no matter how small—will help me cover rent, my phone bill, and essentials while I continue to try and secure work.
