Keeping WI Traditions Alive - The Old Fashioned
Donation protected
When we opened The Old Fashioned in 2005, we set out to create a restaurant and tavern that would be welcoming to all generations. When you walked through our door, you would feel a sense of nostalgia and pride in the food, beers and traditions that celebrate Wisconsin. We became the quintessential place for locals and visitors for old fashioneds, cheese curds, the great beers of Wisconsin and Friday Fish Frys. Many of you have become our friends, celebrating birthdays, wedding engagements and of course, UW spirit!
As you well know, the pandemic has had a disastrous effect on the restaurant industry. The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) allowed us to keep 24 of our staff employed, down from 108 when we closed our doors in March, and was intended to be a short term fix. No one thought we would still be at 25% capacity 8 months later. While we are extremely grateful for your continued support of our curbside, delivery and outdoor seating, these sales no longer cover our expenses. Our goal for the short term is to keep our staff employed, serve our
community and make it through the winter in hopes of opening at 100% capacity as soon as it is safe for everyone.
We come to you humbly asking for your support. All funds donated will be used to help offset our operating expenses, employee health care and payroll costs until we are able to open at full capacity. We cannot wait for the day when we are able to share some cherry bounce, muddle you an old fashioned, see pictures of your quarantine adventures and welcome our family and Big Shots back to The Old Fashioned.
Heartfelt appreciation for your consideration,
