Keeping roses for Mom

Hi my name is Pat.

My mothers favorite flowers were roses. When she was dying of cancer about a week before she passed she begged me to take care of her yard (especially her roses) about 120 bushes.  She passed in 2000. My father passed 52 days later & said, daughter I know I am leaving this all in good hands.

In October of 1996 I had a heart catherization done and the Dr. who did it tore the lining from my abdominal aorta and my left femoral artery & it has been one problem after the other with numerous grafts to help get blood to my legs. In 2007 I lost my husband and moved here. 2008 I was forced to retire to the fact I could no longer spend hours on my feet as a cook.

I am now 74 and my legs are so painful from my circulation problems and I took a bad fall injuring my back quite severely thus making it extremely hard to bend to constantly pull weeds out of the rose beds. (I am fighting a losing battle as I can't spend hours doing it any more.

 

I would like to have the rose beds professionally Landscaped with weed guard and mulched which will save me tons of bending & I can prune them etc. so they stay healthy and beautiful.   I figure it would cost a wild guess around $2,500. My only income is my Social Security so I alone  cannot afford to hire a landscape company to do it.

It breaks my heart to see my beloved mothers roses slowly being overtaken by weeds.

 

I live in the country with open fields on 3 sides which are full of weeds and their seeds blow into my yard.

 

I am a proud person & have always hated to ask for help. But for my mom and to keep the promise I made to her I am turning to Go Fund Me for help.
