Tenor Sax for Aspiring Musician
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rafael and I play Tenor saxophone. I have been playing music for three years. I have studied music at WHEELS, the public school I attend, as well as Jazz at Lincoln Center and Manhattan School of Music where I played bari sax. After participating in these programs I realized that what I really want to do in life is play music. So far, I've relied on playing school instruments, and to take my musicianship to the next level and have a career as a musician I need a professional level instrument of my own. My goal is to raise enough money to buy myself a professional Tenor saxophone, which costs about $3,500, and officially show my dedication to music. I understand I am still very young, but we all must start somewhere. To me music isn't just a hobby, it's a way to express yourself, and it's a way to feel confident about yourself. When I first started playing music I was shy and didn't like talking or expressing myself very much, but as my journey continued I changed. Now I talk with confidence and I am not afraid to stand up and show off what I learned. If I see any obstacles in my way on this journey I will persevere through them. This may seem like I'm just asking for a saxophone but for me this represents my dedication and my maturity. I will be very thankful because I know that I may be asking for a lot. It is all worth it because this is my future and I won't change my mind.
