Keilah and Kevin

Dear Friends, my name is Lisa and I'm fundraising money for Keilah, Kevin and their 6 kids. I first met Keilah a few months ago after seeing her with her kids at the park a few times and suspecting that they were living out of their car. I lost touch with them until today when I ran into her at the park again.

Things have gone from bad to worse. Although her husband did find a job, they are still living out of hotels until near the end of his pay period and then they have to live out of the car again.

A few days ago, the family was sleeping in the car in a park parking lot. The police came shining their flashlights into the car. Her husband was afraid that the police were bad guys and started to pull the car away, but stopped as soon as he realized that they were the police. One of the officers broke through the front driver's window, and glass went everywhere, scaring the kids. Her husband tried to explain to the officers that he didn't realize who they were, but they arrested him anyway for evading them. Now he is in jail and she can't use a bail bondsman because they don't have an address.

She tells me that they are on a housing waiting list and was told that it won't be until February or March.

She and her 6 kids are living out of a car that now has a missing driver's side window. The temps are going to be down in the 30s. They have no money.

I'm guessing that it will be around $400 to fix the window and about $2800 for a hotel room for them until March, so my hope and goal is to raise at least $3,200. If you can help financially, I am ever so grateful.

Most important is to be in prayer for this dear sweet family.
