UPDATE 4/14/2017. Keith lost his battle with cancer on 4/11/2017. Thank you everyone who prayed, contributed and supported Keith through this ordeal. He is now at peace, with the ability to see everything heaven has to offer in the company of his grandmother Berta.

Keith Bettman is a 21 year old young man who had his whole life ahead of him, full of promise and opportunities.
On April 2016 Keith began to lose his vision. After several optometry appointments, he was diagnosed with juvenile monocular degeneration, which left him totally blind by June. During this time he began suffering from headaches, and after a severe migraine at the end of June, he went to the emergency room. A CT scan determined he had a brain tumor which caused the irreparable damage to his optical nerve and was wrapped around his pituitary gland.
Keith underwent surgery to remove the tumor the first part of July. The surgery was successful in removing much of the tumor, but he suffered complications, and had 3 additional surgical procedures and remained in the hospital 4 weeks. He then began his long recuperation process which included several more hospital stays. Keith's extended family was able to band together to provide home care for 3 months but are unable to continue full- time care.
The remaining portion of the tumor in Keith's brain was diagnosed as cancerous. Keith will begin radiation shortly. With Keith's blindness and anticipated health deterioration resulting from his cancer and his radiation treatments, we are requesting funds to provide assistance in paying for home health care services for Keith.
A home health care professional assisting Keith during the day would be greatly appreciated and provide the extended family some much needed temporary respite.
Please consider contributing to Keith’s recovery and support. Thank you.
