Help Kelli Conde Clark Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
Update on Kelli: In the short time since I started this fundraiser much has happened, sadly most was not positive. Kelli finished chemotherapy in February. She had such severe Neuropathy that her doctor was almost forced to stop the chemo early. She was nonetheless excited to heal and was looking forward to positive scans and labs.
Last week she got her results back only to learn that in the few months since her last scan a new, fast growing and aggressive tumor has developed near her colon in addition to the cancers already present throughout her abdomen. She has met with the surgeon and in the next two week she will have surgery to remove the tumor and some other effected areas. This will be followed by more Chemotherapy and possibly experimental treatments.

Kelli is trying to remain positive but is literally fighting for her life. Derick has returned to work but only part time. Kelli has also found part time work but with possible surgery and chemo coming up continuing to work is not likely.

She appreciates the love, prayers and support she has received but her needs are even more dire. I hope that with further donations her stress will be reduced so she can focus on trying to beat the cancer with less financial worries.

Original Post: My name is Miguel Conde I am creating this fundraiser for my niece Kelli Conde Clark. Last May (2023) Kelli had what was supposed to be a quick laparoscopic surgery to remove a mass on her omentum(in her abdomen). During the procedure the surgeon discovered a second, much larger mass. The surgeon had to expand the incision and found that the second large mass was attached to one of her ovaries. To remove the mass, he was forced to take one of Kelli's ovaries and fallopian tubes. The surgeon was unable to safely remove the affected areas of the omentum.

Sadly, the mass and growths were confirmed to be cancer and Kelli was referred to a oncological surgeon in New Orleans for removal of her omentum.

In September, she had surgery to remove her omentum but unfortunately the surgeon discovered the cancer has spread to 5 other areas and/or organs around her abdomen. They did remove her omentum.

In November, with a positive attitude and the love and support of her husband of one year, Derick, Kelli began aggressive chemotherapy. The therapy is on-going and Kelli has experienced significant neuropathy. Despite much sickness and severe neuropathy from chemotherapy every three weeks, Kelli kept working, though with significantly reduced hours.

In January, unfortunately, the company where she and Derick both worked had to reluctantly lay them both off due to very slow sales. They understand and respect that it was a required business decision however they find themselves in great financial difficulty. Kelli is attempting to qualify for short term
disability and looking for work. Derick is actively looking for work(doing side jobs as he can) while working hard to support Kelli's needs.

Kelli and Derick live a modest life but, even so with Kelli's illness and the loss of their jobs, life has gotten even tougher. To emotionally deal with cancer as an individual or as a newly married couple is hard enough but to throw in extreme financial hardship only compounds the stress and anxiety.

Kelli has medicaid insurance but that does not cover everything like her weekly trips to appointments and treatments. It also doesn't cover travel expenses like her trip to New Orleans for a follow up exploratory surgery which will be required later this year.

I check in with Kelli every few days and she is doing her best to heal and not let her anxiety and fears regarding her illness, and their financial difficulties get the best of her. Our family has done fundraisers for her and they have been helpful but the reach of potential support through local fundraisers is limited.

Kelli and Derick, though very appreciative, are very humbled by the idea accepting financial support from others. They do however,
realize extreme stress inhibits healing and Kelli needs to heal.

The goal of $10,000 is a number I picked based on what it would cost to supplement Kelli's inability to work for a few months (the neuropathy limits her job options), trips for Medical treatment to Lafayette and New Orleans, and their unemployment now going into a second month.

Any support you can offer, big or small, will be greatly appreciated . Your thoughts and prayers for them are also very much welcomed. Thank you.
