Kelli Manthei's glioblastoma treatment
Donation protected
My name is Sandi Engh. My daughter, Kelli, needs help covering her expenses for treatment of glioblastoma brain cancer. She is a vibrant young person who had no health problems until this past August when she passed out at work with an apparent grand mal seizure. Unfortunately, in treatment for the seizure, an MRI revealed a mass in her left temporal lobe. Our worst fears were realized when it was confirmed to be a high-grade astrocytoma, WHO Grade 4. That's about as bad as this cancer gets, with a median expected lifespan of 14-16 months from diagnosis.
She is starting treatment this week - radiation and low-dose chemotherapy and a clinical trial of Tumor Treating Field radiotherapy in conjunction with the radiation and chemo. The clinical trial will last at least 2 years.
We expect she won't be able to work through the entire course of treatment and want to prepare to be able to support her when she can't and help cover her medical costs.
Please consider giving to this fundraiser to help this kind, caring, artistic, young woman get through treatment for this terrible life-altering disease.
