Kelly Corcoran's Cancer Battle - How to Help

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lisa and I’m fundraising for my brother-in-law of 30 years, Kelly Corcoran, who is fighting Pancreatic Cancer. Two months ago, Kelly was a healthy 59-year-old husband and father of four who had just celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary with my sister, Tracy.

Kelly has always been the primary supporter for his family. He worked his Monday-Friday job as a crane operator and delivered pizza for a local pizzeria near his house on weekends for extra money. In late July, Kelly started having pain in his abdomen and thought he had just “pulled a muscle”. After several weeks of no relief and the pain intensifying, he ended up in the ER and a scan revealed a large tumor in his pancreas. A biopsy the following week confirmed it was pancreatic cancer. Kelly has a solid year-long battle ahead of him - with months of chemo to shrink the tumor, followed by a major surgery to remove the tumor and recover, followed by more chemo afterwards.

The pain Kelly is in due to the tumor and pancreatitis flare ups is intense and complications have put him in the hospital multiple times in the last month. The pain meds used to manage his pain keep Kelly from driving, which has been his livelihood. Even if he was to have a “good day,” he is still unable to drive. Unfortunately, with no short-term disability, the pension Kelly was recently approved to draw from will cover a little more than the mortgage. Currently, the family is being forced to put food, gas, and other expenses on credit cards as they watch the medical bills continue to mount every day.

Kelly has been the glue that holds his family together, always there for family activities, always cracking jokes, always willing to lend a hand to those in need, always giving. It breaks my heart to see such a loving, close-knit, generous family struggle like this. The weight of fighting pancreatic cancer is heavy in itself, the added weight of the financial burden makes the battle he faces overwhelming. Please consider donating to help Kelly Corcoran and his family ease their financial burden during this fight for Kelly’s life. #fightwithkelly
