Kelly Dennis’ Medical Expenses

My dad Kelly Dennis was in a horrible motorcycle accident the night of 10/9 On the back roads of Anna, Texas. If you know my dad, you know he has been riding since he was a little boy and that motorcycles are his life. Seeing something that he loves so much be the cause of this much pain and destruction is hard to witness especially when the future of his riding is uncertain.

He fortunately did not have any head or spinal injuries and all of his limbs are untouched BUT he did incur a pelvis bone broken in half and some very serious internal and external damage to his lower abdomen. He lost a ALOT of blood at the scene and ultimately had to be airlifted to medical city Plano where he is currently in the trauma ICU. He has now had multiple surgeries and has multiple more to go. It is not going to be an easy road. The last 2 days have been the worst but we are hoping he will move to a step down unit here in a few days. He is looking at 3-4 more weeks in the hospital plus an additional 4-6 weeks in a rehab facility, and that’s only if everything goes to plan.

There have been so many wonderful people reaching out and asking what they can do for our family and if they can visit him. We are asking for no visitors for the time being, as he is still in lots of pain and needs plenty of rest.

If you know my dad, you know he is a marine through and through and as strong as they come. He will overcome this, he may just be a little different than he started.

This next part is something that is the hardest for our family, being proud and asking for help is not something we usually do. But as you may know, private first class helicopter rides, multiple Surgeries, and long term hospital/rehab stays are not free and insurance only covers so much.. so if you would like to help in any way, I will link a gofundme for my dad. It’s awful watching someone in such a terrible state worrying about expenses when he should be thinking about healing.
