Kelly B’s final hoorah

Suddenly and unexpectedly, our beloved Momma, Kelly recently passed on 21st July. Kelly was a wonderful Mum, Daughter, Grandma, Sister, Auntie and friend who touched the many lives of those around her. She leaves behind 4 amazing children Paige, Kyle, Macy and Finley and a gorgeous, very funny little granddaughter Connie, a wonderful and caring Mother and Father, Les and Pete and 2 beautiful sisters Claire and Kimberley.

Our Mum, Kelly suffered a catastrophic bleed on the brain on Thursday 20th July. Unfortunately, despite the brilliant and very best efforts of the paramedics, doctors and nurses sadly there was nothing they could do. We would like to give a huge thanks to the staff at Huddersfield A&E and ICU for the excellent care we received throughout.

Anyone who knew our Kelly knows that she was the absolute life and soul of the party- this was any party, whether it be a family Christmas party where she usually had too much Rose or the many times she frequented Dublin with her friends to see ‘the boys’. Kelly had a passion for Irish music even if she didn’t always know the words and loved travelling around in her camper van. Kelly was absolutely crazy in all best ways and was the most caring, beautiful soul, a loyal, kind and very thoughtful mother, grandma, daughter, sister, auntie and friend that you could meet.

She absolutely loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and she would have done anything for anyone as she did on so many occasions. This amazing legacy will continue in the form of organ donation and her organs have already helped other families in need.

It will probably not come as a huge surprise to many that whilst Kelly updated her organ donor card only a few weeks ago, she didn’t do the same with her life insurance policy, instead she followed her dream and her lifelong mantra ‘I’m here for a good time, not a long time’ although we never expected to be saying goodbye so soon.

Our Kel could often be found in the local pub with her many friends. She knew everyone and always be found with her favourite tipple ‘a large glass of Rose’. There truly was only one Kelly Barnes!

We are all devastated by our mum’s very sudden and totally unexpected death and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service at this time. We would really like to give Kelly the memorial she deserves, to honour her memory and say our last goodbyes. Any donation, big or small would help towards the cost of the funeral and would be greatly appreciated by our family and help us massively during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course, you are all welcome to come and help celebrate Kelly’s life and give her the send off she would want and deserves.
