Kelly's Story
In early 2020, just as covid was invading our world, Kelly, at age 30, was diagnosed with IGA-N. This disease is causing her end-stage kidney failure and is in desperate need of a kidney transplant.
Kelly spends 18 long hours a week at dialysis, just to keep living until a donated kidney can be found. Due to the Covid Pandemic, all transplants were halted as the Healthcare experts were unsure of the effects of Covid on those individuals willing to donate, or the recipients of the donation. Organ transplants are back to being performed, however, this has pushed the process back a few years for Kelly.
Despite Kelly's dire health situation, she continues to be an amazing mother to the most precious and rambunctious little guy and a wonderful wife to her husband, Mike. She is an adored daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and granddaughter. She is always trying her very best to ensure her son has a normal, childhood experience, but unfortunately, he does not remember a time when his Mommy wasn't sick.
Through this illness, Kelly has not been able to work. She has been hospitalized numerous times for many different ailments all relating to her failing kidneys. While the Kidney Foundation helps with the costs of dialysis, hospitalizations are not covered.
Any help that you can give Kelly will be used for after the transplant, including the costs associated with the procedure (anit-rejection medications, aftercare, etc.).
To know Kelly is to know kindness and strength. She is so very loved by everyone who knows her. We ask for your help to provide her and her family with a healthy, fulfilling life to be shared together. Thank you all in advance for your generosity.
