As part of the Grey Cup Festivities, November 22-26 2018, the co-ed team of 10 boys and 3 girls will compete against nine teams from across Canada, with the winner of this tournament moving on to represent Canada at the NFL Pro Bowl January 2019 in Orlando, Florida.
"This is once in a lifetime opportunity for these young athletes, and I am so proud to be associated with such a great group of kids," stated head coach Brandon Thompson. "I really believe this team has a chance to advance to the Pro Bowl."
After winning the BC Regional CFL/NFL Tournament the Kelowna Jr. Sun - Team BC won an expense paid trip to the National Tournament in Edmonton during the Grey Cup week. The CFL/NFL has graciously taken care of the expenses of 10 of our players but we have 13 players on our roster and our raising additional funds for those three players to attend the tournament with their teammates, including airfare, accommodation and food. We are also trying to raise funds for Kelowna Jr. Sun - Team BC athletic gear for all of our players. Separately, costs that are not covered by the CFL/NFL for the tournament that we are additionally trying to raise funds for are for the players and some of the parents and include two additional nights stay surrounding the tournament so the boys can enjoy the festivities and taking the team and the parents to attend the 106th Annual Grey Cup.
Our sincerest thank you for any and all support.
