Keltons Heart Journey
Donation protected
As many of you know, Nina and Nate are expecting another baby boy at the end of the month. While at the anatomy scan, Nina and Nate were informed that baby Kelton has a condition called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS). This is a broad diagnosis and essentially means that Keltons right side of the heart has not formed fully as one would hope or expect.
Nina and the baby will be cared for by a team of specialists in Atlanta, five hours away from our homes. As the diagnosis is broad, there will be many unknowns until Kelton is born, at which point the medical team can evaluate him and see if immediate surgery is required and formulate a game plan.
This will require Nina and Nate to temporarily relocate to Atlanta prior to, during, and after birth. It is unknown at this time how long Nina, Nate and baby Kelton will need to stay in Atlanta. They will be leaving mid January and staying in the Ronald McDonald house in Atlanta however will have the cost of travel, food, and other expenses. Nate will still be working and there household bills do not stop. Additionally, they want their older son Emmett up there with them as much as reasonably possible which will require additional travel.
If you feel compelled to donate I know Nina and Nate would greatly appreciate the help and support as they venture into the new year with a mountain ahead of them. Also helpful are any gas cards and restaurant gift cards. Let’s help take some stress off their shoulders in such an uncertain time in their lives.
