Ken Albert's Cancer Battle Fund
My name is Ken Albert, I am US Navy retired veteran of 22 years. I have trained most of my life to face and enemy and defeat them with superior firepower and technology. Nothing from college or the military trained me for the day I was told I have stage 3 esophogeal cancer and only given a 50% chance of survival(my chances of survival have since increased to 70%). Since my diagnosis in March of this year I have not been able to work as a substitute teacher since my radiation therapy requires me to be in therapy every day of the week except saturday and sundays. I have eliminated my savings and am struggling to make ends meet I have exhausted outside assistance from other service organizations. co pays continue to build as each day I go to radiation they ask for a co pay, and anytime I go in for radiation that is a nother co pay. I am still facing some rough times ahead I am facing some rather invavisive surgery to remove th tumor at the juncture of my stomach and esophagus and the 4 lymph nodes involved in what they call the cancer drain field. There comes a time when an individual needs to be humble and swallow their pride and as ask for help but i dont know what else to do. Please help, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read my story.
